About BallotTrax

BallotTrax is a free service that notifies Oregon voters about the status of their mail ballot by phone, email, or text from the time their county elections official mails the outgoing ballot to when their mailed ballot is received and accepted.

  • When your ballot is received by your county elections office.

Visit {county_url} for election information."

What does this ballot update mean?

  • It means your ballot was rejected because of an issue with the signature on your ballot return identification envelope.
  • Your county elections official will also send you a letter explaining why your ballot was rejected, and the steps you need to take to fix or “cure” the problem so your ballot can be counted.
  • You should contact your county elections official for guidance on how to fix the issue. Find their contact information at oregonvotes.gov/counties.
  • You have until the 21st day after the election to fix the issue.

Troubleshooting: Sign up

  • The most common mistake is using an alias to log in with. Voters must log in with their name, year of birth, and zip code exactly as it appears on their voter registration. For example, if a voter’s first name is James and they attempt to log in as Jim, they will be denied access.
  • Another issue is having canceled, incomplete, or inactive voter registration. Make sure your registration is active and up to date. To check your voter registration, go to oregonvotes.gov/myvote or contact your county elections office.
  • The final reason you may have trouble signing up for BallotTrax is if you are a confidential voter. Confidential voters are not able to enroll in BallotTrax and need to contact their county elections office to get updates on the status of their ballot.
