All active registered voters, regardless of party affiliation, will be sent a ballot with measures and non-partisan contests based on the residential address on their voter registration.
In Oregon, major political parties nominate their party candidates at the Primary Election. Depending on your party affiliation, you may see party primary contests on your ballot.
- Major parties have the option of choosing a closed primary, meaning only voters registered with that party can vote for candidates of the same party. The Democratic and Republican parties are both having closed primaries. Party nominees will move forward to the November General Election.
- Minor parties conduct their nominating elections according to party bylaws. Please contact the party directly for details.

Your party affiliation will not impact which contests or candidates appear on your November 2026 General Election ballot.
