Register here!

Join the State Elections Division and the City of Portland Elections Office to discuss the State of Oregon and the City of Portland’s campaign finance regulations in candidate elections. This learning opportunity is being offered through the Multnomah Bar Association and is geared not only towards lawyers, but also candidates, political committees, and third parties who engage in independent spending in candidate elections. While this is officially a continuing legal education course sponsored by the Multnomah Bar Association, it's open to everyone interested in campaign finance. In partnership with the Multnomah Bar Association, we're offering free admission to:

  • Candidates running for any City of Portland or State office;
  • Staff at nonprofits who work on candidate education;
  • Attorneys committed to offering pro bono legal assistance (as campaign finance law allows) to candidates or nonprofits, breaking down barriers to effective representation.

Click the “Register Here” link above to reserve your spot. Use the code FINANCEFREE on the checkout page. Although it'll prompt you through payment steps, entering the code means no payment info is needed; at the end, you'll see a balance of $0.

June 2024 - What To Do With Your Committee After an Election

June 28, 2024 at Noon (12 p.m. to 1 p.m.)

Register here!

Have you wondered what happens to ORESTAR committees after the election is over? Spoiler alert: they don’t just disappear.

Join us for our June Campaign Finance Open House, where our team will answer your questions and walk though campaign finance topics everyone can learn from!

Candidates and treasurers are responsible for ensuring the committee continues to comply with laws and rules while the committee is open. Join the Elections Division’s staff for an open house to chat about what you’re required to do with your committee after an election.

Bring your questions to the open house or submit them at the registration link. Registration is required and space is limited.

This training is a repeat of the training offered in June 2023. If you previously attended, you are welcome to join us again for a refresher.
