Present Duties
The Department of Consumer and Business Services (DCBS) is Oregon’s largest consumer protection and business regulatory agency. The department administers state laws and rules to protect consumers and workers with workers’ compensation, occupational safety and health, financial services, insurance and building codes. The department serves as an integrated umbrella agency over most state functions affecting businesses to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
DCBS employs about 900 people and is headquartered in Salem. Several divisions have offices around the state.
