This five-member governing board is appointed by the Governor and confirmed by the senate. The board sets agency policy, oversees general operations, and adopts a strategic plan every six years to guide DOGAMI's mission and objectives. The Board meets at least quarterly at sites around the state. As active members of their communities, Board members provide an important connection between Oregonians and DOGAMI’s work.​​
