Born in Myrtle Creek, October 24, 1956. Stanford University, B.A., 1979; master’s degree in Public Policy from Woodrow Wilson School at Princeton University, 1982. He was Executive Director of Portland Habitat for Humanity before serving as President of the World Affairs Council of Oregon for seven years. He and his wife Mary have two children.
