One of the more mysterious figures in Oregon history, Opal Whiteley, published this book as a diary. But many people who knew her dismissed it as a novel at best or a fraud at worst. In the book, she extolls the wonders of nature. Her presentation in the book and her mesmerizing lectures on nature spawned a large following for the girl genius that some called a prophet.
