Oregon’s public universities serve as educational, scholarly and research centers preparing students to succeed in the workforce and serve the needs of Oregon students and communities. Providing education at the baccalaureate level and beyond, the seven Oregon public universities include Eastern Oregon University (EOU), La Grande; Oregon Institute of Technology (OIT), Klamath Falls and Wilsonville; Oregon State University (OSU), Corvallis and Bend; Portland State University (PSU), Portland; Southern Oregon University (SOU), Ashland; University of Oregon (UO), Eugene; and Western Oregon University (WOU), Monmouth.

In 2017–2018, the public universities collectively awarded a total of 24,834 degrees and certificates across the state, including 18,083 bachelor degrees and 6,751 advanced degrees and graduate certificates. The universities offer bachelor degrees in hundreds of majors and minors, certificate programs, professional programs, graduate programs, as well as research, scholarship, innovation and public service that directly serve Oregon’s communities and industries and the needs of national and international constituents.
