Founded in 2001, the Oregon Cultural Trust leads Oregon in cultivating, growing and valuing culture as an integral part of communities. Working with the Oregon Arts Commission, the Oregon Heritage Commission, the Oregon Historical Society, Oregon Humanities and the State Historic Preservation Office, the Cultural Trust inspires Oregonians to invest in a permanent fund that provides grants to cultural organizations. It is governed by a 13-member board of directors. Eleven voting members are appointed by the governor, and the president of the Senate and speaker of the House of Representatives each appoint a member of the Legislature as non-voting, advisory members.
