Parking
Metered parking is available in the parking lot on the Summer Street side of the building. The lot includes four 10 hour spaces, eight 4 hour spaces and two 30 minute spaces. One hour of meter time is $1.50. Two unmetered disabled parking spaces are also provided. Additional metered parking is available on Summer Street. The Archives cannot provide change for parking meters. Free one hour parking
is available on D Street and in the neighborhood to the north of the building.
Hours
The reference room is open Monday–Friday (except
state government holidays) from 8 a.m. to noon and from 1 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. A closing announcement is made at 4:30 p.m. At that time, you should return records to the reference archivists and pay for copies. Researchers are to exit the reference room by 4:45 p.m.
Building Exterior Views
Planners designed the exterior of the Archives Building to visually anchor the north end of the Capitol Mall just as the State Capitol anchors the south end of the mall. See the architectural features of the building and views of the grounds surrounding the building in this slideshow:
