Clothing trademarks reflect changes that took place over more than a century. The Industrial Revolution produced a rapid series of changes in women's clothing and made possible the manufacture of fashionable clothes.
The revolt by women against social and political restrictions in the 20th Century was accompanied by the disappearance of the corset. For the first time in 500 years, the natural shape of women reappeared. After World War I, women began to show their legs. By the mid-1920s, skirts were long-waisted and stopped at the knee.
