Latourell Falls freefalls 224 feet from a basalt cliff before crashing onto the rocks below. This photograph focuses on the power of the slender but tall waterfall. The other distinguishing feature of Latourell Falls is a large patch of brilliant yellow lichen on the rock face just to the right of the waterfall. (
