The board is responsible for administering the Chiropractic Practice Act, as well as establishing the rules and regulations governing chiropractic medicine in Oregon. The seven-member board is comprised of five licensed chiropractors and two public members appointed by the governor for three-year terms.

The board’s mission is to serve the public; regulate the practice of chiropractic medicine; and promote quality, competent and ethical health care. The board’s programs include application, examination, continuing education, public information and investigation of complaints. If violations are found, the board issues disciplinary actions and/or rehabilitation plans to meet competency standards.​
